Derapur is a town in Kanpur Dehat district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is the headquarters of the Tehsil of the same name. Derapur is 61 km from Kanpur.

Demographics
As of 2001 India census Derapur had a population of 5515 Males constitute 52.49% of the population and females 47.51%.

Transport
It is well connected by rail and road. ther is no rail line and no NH , after 6 pm no vehicle available from RURA or Mungisapur to go to Derapur

Geography
Derapur is located at 26°25′0″N 79°48′0″E / 26.416667°N 79.8°E / 26.416667; 79.8. It has an average elevation of 124 meters (410 feet)


Ramabai Nagar earlier Kanpur Dehat District, also called Akbarpur District, is a district of Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. The administrative headquarters of the district are at Akbarpur.

Kanpur District was divided into two district namely Kanpur-nagar and Kanpur-Dehat in year 1977. Reunited again in year 1979. Again separated in year 1981. Now UP government has decided to rename Kanpur Dehat as RAMA BAI NAGAR.

Administration
Kanpur Dehat has 5 Tehsils and 10 Development Blocks. There are 102 Nyay Panchayats and 613 Gram Sabhas in this district. The Development blocks are Akbarpur. Maitha, Sarwankhera, Derapur, Jhinjhak, Rasoolabad, Amraudha, Malasa, Sandalpur, and Rajpur.

Census towns of Kanpur Dehat District are: Akbarpur, Amraudha, Gausganj, Jhinjhak, Pukhrayan, Rura, Rajpur, Shivli, Sikandara.

Other important settlements are: Asalatganj, Bhognipur, Bharauli, Dharau, Mawar, Mangalpur, Musanagar, Satti, Sheoli.

Transport
The district is well connected by Railways. Three Rail tracks run through Kanpur dehat district. The Railway route connecting Delhi to Hawrah belonging to North Central zone of Indian Railways is passing through Centre of the District. This Railway track is broad gauge and fully electrified. The Railway Station falling in this route through the district are Bhaupur, Maitha, Roshan Mau Halt, Rura, Ambiyapur, Jhinjhak and Parjani Halt.

The second track is Kanpur to Bombay Railway line. The railway stations on this route are Binaur, Rasulpur Gogumau, Tilaunchi, Paman, Lalpur, Malasa, Pukhrayan and Chaunrah. This Railway track is broad gauge and non-electrified also belongs to North Central zone.

The third railway line which until recently was narrow gauge but has now been converted into broad gauge belongs to North Eastern Railway zone. The track runs parallel to river Ganges. This track is also non-electrified.

Kos Minars
Since Mughal road (Grand Trunk Road) passes through it, there are many Kos Minar in the district. Some of them are protected monuments, notable of them are at Bhognipur, Chapar Ghata, Deosar, Gaur, Halia, Jallapur Sikandara, Pailwaru, Pitampur, Raigawan, Rajpur, Sankhiln Buzurg, Sardarpur.
